STUMP GRINDING
This is the process where a stump at ground level is churned out of the floor using a machine, which has a rotating metal wheel with sharp blades. Most of our customers will have their stump ground out once their tree is removed, so that the area is usable, either for planting or turfing. Our smallest stump grinder is 2ft wide, so it can fit through most doors if access is a worry. If you don't plan to use the area again, then you should consider leaving a stump, the taller the better. This will create a habitat for lots of beetles and bugs as well as deadwood feeding fungi.
Once a stump has been ground, we usually leave the grinded arisings to backfill the hole that has been made. If you wish to replant or turf the area then arisings will need to be removed and replaced with soil.
